Starting in January 2019 Stagecoach have made big changes to local bus services including slashing the popular X68 (Kenilworth-Warwick hospital)bus service and reducing the frequency of the X17. This is despite a petition with more than 200 signatures organised by local LibDems.

Clearly the Conservative administration at the County Council accepted a proposal from a company who have had clear difficulties in providing a reliable bus service. LibDem County Councillors have found unspent funds in a budget for concessionary travel and have called on the Council to spend the money to enable people to continue to get to the hospital by bus.

Stagecoach service X17 will operate between Coventry and Warwick only with the frequency reduced from every 15 minutes to every 20 minutes.

A new bus route from Kenilworth to the hospital will start in January but is far less frequent and I fear it will not prove popular with hospital visitors, patients, volunteers or staff which means more inconvenience for residents and more traffic on the road.
