Putting people before party politics Learn more

On Monday April 25th the MP for Kenilworth & Southam voted against Amendment 87 in the Immigration Bill that is currently proceeding through Parliament.
This amendment, the so-called Dubs Amendment, would have required the Government to relocate and support 3,000 unaccompanied children from Europe had it been passed.
On other occasions when there has been a controversial debate, e.g. HS2, the MP for Kenilworth & Southam has chosen to abstain. Here it seems he took a conscious decision to vote against the amendment.
Given the suffering of so many innocent refugee children, I have written to him to ask for an explanation as to why he felt so strongly motivated to take such action.
If I had been MP I would have voted in favour of the amendment.
I look forward to receiving a reply from the MP for Kenilworth & Southam.
